iGoogle (formerly Google Personalized Homepage) was a customizable start page or personal web portal launched by Google in May 19, 2005.[1] It was discontinued on November 1, 2013, after the need for it eroded over time.[2] As of October 17, 2007, Google made the service available in many localized versions in 42 languages and in over 70 country domain names.[3]
Users could put gadgets on their home page, including some gadgets for Google Desktop. Such gadgets could include an RSS reader, YouTube channel and videos, and a Gmail inbox. iGoogle was customizable with themes as well, both from Google and from third parties.
